Support the Ain't I a Woman?! Campaign
Recently the Liberty workers were able to get the
lower court ruling overturned. But the case was sent back to the
same lower court judge that had originally ruled against it and
will go into court again in the Fall of 2004. We must use this
limited time to inform the public of this important case that
will impact our lives. More importantly, we must organize ourselves
to take a stand to hold companies that subcontract responsible
to the people who create the wealth.
Most immediately, we need help:
-
- Sign a pledge online,
or print one out and fax/send
it in. Get your friends, family, co-workers, groups or organizations
to sign too.
-
You can also help out bydoing the following:
-
Boycott retailers that sell Liberty Apparel
clothing or other sweatshop manufacturers like DKNY, Odd &
Even and Streetbeat
-
Form a local campaign support committee
-
Make a donation to the campaign to help cover
the costs of educational materials
-
Share your ideas with us
- Endorse the "Ain't I a Woman?!" campaign
- Distribute our DKNY
petition (.pdf) among your friends, family, co-workers and
other students
- Write a letter to Donna Karan
and send a copy to Ain't I a Woman?!
- Spread the word through e-mails, faxes and word of mouth
- Get a group together and buy an ad in your local newspaper
- Wear and sell our campaign T-
shirts
- Put up stickers
- Set up a class discussion, presentation or a house party to
talk about the campaign
- Write letters to celebrities who wear DKNY clothes and send
a copy to us
- Call your legislator to support legislation holding retailers
accountable
- Produce videos, skits or fanzines on the issue or come up with
new ideas!
- Contribute to the campaign
- Get involved in current events with one of the sponsoring
organizations of the campaign.
